Space Tech Expo is the West Coast’s premier space event consisting of two days of knowledge sharing and networking alongside the largest supply chain exhibition of its kind. H.C. Starck Solutions’ C-103 niobium alloy with niobium-hafnium-titanium is well-suited for rocket and jet propulsion applications utilized in spacecraft and launch vehicles. One of the key advantages of the niobium alloy is its high strength at temperatures up to 2700 °F (1482 °C), particularly in high performance rocket nozzle applications. It also has excellent resistance to high frequency vibrations at cryogenic temperatures, which is critical in many satellite applications, due to its low ductile-to brittle transition temperature.
Our refractory metals products are also widely utilized in defense applications found in missiles, aircraft, sea vessels among other uses. A few examples include aircraft and missile tungsten and tungsten alloy balance, ballast, & vibration weights. There are also critical uses in missile attitude controls, shape charge liners, fragmentation sleeves, and shielding as well as 3D printed munition components using a variety of refractory metals.
